Request for Proposal for Professional Services
The Portsmouth Public Library Board of Trustees invite Architectural/Engineering firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications to become eligible for an interview for A/E services for the replacement of the current HVAC system at the Main Library located in Portsmouth, OH.
Statements of Qualifications should include the firm’s history; education and experience of owners and key technical personnel; the technical experience of current staff; firm’s experience in performing engineering studies, design, administration and construction observation; availability of staff; the firm’s equipment and facilities; references; and any previous work performed for the Portsmouth Public Library. Statements of Qualifications should be mailed to: Director Paige Williams, Portsmouth Public Library, 1220 Gallia St., Portsmouth, OH 45662. The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014.
Project Name and Description: PPL HVAC REPLACEMENT – The Main Library is a limestone Carnegie building completed in 1906 with additions in 1971 and 1995. The current under-fire boiler two-pipe heating and cooling system is to be replaced with a VRF system in the original part of the building only. The estimated total cost of the project is $550,000. The anticipated design start-up date is July 2014 with construction beginning in Fall 2014.
As required by ORC 153.65-73, responding firms will be evaluated and ranked in order of their qualifications. The top three ranking firms will be asked to interview with the Portsmouth Public Library Board of Trustees. Upon completion of the interviews, the Library will enter into contract negotiations with the most highly qualified firm.
