Calling all artists, inventors, builders, and thinkers! This monthly STEAM-Based kids program will challenge you to solve problems and get creative with a variety of everyday items (rubber bands, cardboard, batteries, etc.). Every month there will be a different Maker Challenge for you to tackle, but if you just want to tinker, LEGOS and art supplies will be set out for anyone to use! Littles should be supervised by a parent during free play with legos and art supplies.

Once Upon an Escape : Escape the Fairytale

Oh no! You are trapped in a fairy tale! Use your fairy tale knowledge and the clues throughout the virtual escape room in order to escape on time in order to make it home before bed. This program will premiere on the Library’s Facebook page, so check out Portsmouth Public Library on Facebook for more details

Zoo Live from the Library! Mythical & Real

Join us as we learn about mythology from all around the world by meeting the critters and creatures that folklore and myths are written about. We will have a mythical zookeeper handy so that no gnomes go wild and the pixies and perfect peaches!

Doodle Bot STEAM: Take N’ Make Crafts

Enchanted Eats: Breakfast Sushi

It can be a challenge to get kids to eat breakfast. That’s why sometimes, it helps to dress it up as something fun and not breakfast-y, like sushi! This month on Enchanted Eats, Sarah from Youth Services will be showing you how to turn simple breakfast ingredients like fruit, yogurt, and cereal into bite-sized “sushi” rolls. Kids with picky taste may just be willing to give these a try, especially since these are recipes that they can make on their own, or with a little help from a grownup.

Among Us Activity: Complete Your Tasks

Complete your crewmate tasks while answering fun winter trivia! Design your own crewmate in this interactive game and at the end, learn who to make your very own crewmate out of clay. Clay is provided as a Take Home Craft at the Main Branch in the Youth Services Department, while supplies last. For ages 8-12
