Reopening Process Now Underway!
Hello! The Portsmouth Public Library System and staff are excited to begin the reopening process! Libraries across Ohio are reopening in phases and we are happy to announce that the Portsmouth Library System is beginning Phase 2 this week. For the next two weeks staff are returning to all locations to receive safety training, install plastic barriers and sanitize the buildings/materials.
Phase 3 will begin on Monday, June 1, with telephone reference services and a new materials pick-up service. The telephone reference service will allow patrons to have their information needs answered and to place holds on library materials without having to visit a physical location. The materials pick-up service will have patrons place holds via telephone or internet and pick-up the materials at a requested location. Please check back next week for more information about these services.
Although all library locations will remain closed to the public until further notice, we are excited to begin to offer patrons access to library materials in a safe and contactless manner. In addition, please use the online services the library offers such as hoopla, Ohio Digital Library, Tumblebooks, Creativebug and many other wonderful resources available with your library card!
Use our online catalog to search for library materials, place items on hold, and view your account details. Your library card number and PIN number are required to place holds.
