DON'T CUT ANYTHING! (S.W)

Please don't close the library. (G.P)

We definitely needs to keep the libraries open full time. (S.L)

My teenagers go to the library to do reports for school. I go every other day to do research. Cutting the funding would take away valuable materials (R.C)

I will have nowhere to go to get books (J.S.)

If this takes effect, my children will not be able to enjoy programs at the library. (D.W)

I depend on the library to check my email, pay bills, interlibrary loan books from other libraries,etc. Please see to it that these services are not hampered. (R.L.L)

I think by doing this, you are cutting a HUGE resource. (M.P)

Thank you for supporting the Portsmouth Public Library! Thanks to you, our legislators are listening and they’re coming out in support of public libraries all across the state. Thank you to the 500 people who showed their support at the Portsmouth Public Library’s Save Our Library Rally on June 24. Thank you to everyone who made calls, sent emails, and wrote letters asking legislators to reject Governor Strickland’s proposal to slash library funding in half.

We are not out of the woods yet, but legislators are working hard to develop a budget that continues to support Ohio’s public libraries. Some of you may wish to thank our legislators for listening. You may contact them here:
